3DE Graduate Spotlight: Stephanie Rivera Serrano

A Journey of Personal Growth and Entrepreneurial Spirit

Stephanie with her 12th grade teacher, Jordan Murphy.

Over the span of four years, Stephanie Rivera Serrano has undergone an incredible transformation. Reflecting on her freshman year at Potomac High School in Oxon Hill, MD, Stephanie remembers being scared, shy, and nervous. She often kept to herself, never speaking up or raising her hand in class. Fast forward to her senior year, and Stephanie is now the first person to speak up, confidently voicing her opinions and addressing large groups.

Throughout her time with 3DE, Stephanie has accumulated numerous memorable experiences. She has participated in impactful campaigns, presented to an audience of over 800 leaders at the Washington Business Hall of Fame, and earned the title of “Queen of 3DE”. The Potomac HS Market Day and her final consultancy presentation for MGM are also standout moments that have left a lasting impression on her.

Stephanie's proudest entrepreneurial accomplishment began in her junior year of high school when it was time for the 3DE students to create their own start-up ventures. Initially, she and her team struggled to settle on a business idea, cycling through concepts from a clothing brand to beanies and blankets. One day, while baking cupcakes for her family like she often did, Stephanie realized that a baking business was the perfect idea. Thus, "Creations by Gabriela" was born. Stephanie dreams of one day opening her own bakery and making her grandparents proud.

Looking ahead, Stephanie is excited about the next chapter of her life at Notre Dame of Maryland University. She will be double majoring in Business Administration and Early Education, with aspirations of becoming a successful entrepreneur. Stephanie is eager to embrace her independence and start the next chapter of her life.

Stephanie's journey through 3DE has not only fostered her personal growth but also ignited her entrepreneurial spirit. We are incredibly proud of her achievements and cannot wait to see what the future holds for her.

Join us in celebrating Stephanie’s incredible journey and wishing her all the best in college and beyond!
