Tomorrow Needs You Today

For Junior Achievement, volunteers are what bring our programs to life. Connecting students with adult role models bring relevance to the academic experience, exposing young people to opportunities and pathways they often have never envisioned before. Volunteers have the power to tackle society's greatest challenges, build stronger communities, and transform the world.

Authentic interactions with JA Volunteers from all walks of life deepens students’ understanding and appreciation for education and long-term aspirations.

The benefits of volunteering include; the power to change lives and communities, improved physical and mental health, new friends and stronger connections, social and networking skills, team bonding, value to employers, increased self-confidence, career opportunities, sense of purpose, and human connection and confidence.

Volunteer with Junior achievement

Through volunteer partnerships with organizations large and small, or individuals interested in sharing their experiences with youth in our community, JA programming and experiences, inspire, prepare and empower both the volunteer and the next generation of Greater Washington leaders.

We have opportunities available with middle and high school students, in individual and group settings, that can accommodate individuals to entire teams and divisions.

You know what matters. Today’s youth are the future. Let’s help them be ready for every challenge—and every opportunity. Send us an inquiry and we will match you with an opportunity that’s right for you, or explore current openings below.

This was the single most inspiring day that I have had in a decade. The children are wonderfully engaged in the JA program and the teachers were very supportive and appreciative. If I were asked to do this five or ten times a year I would do so.”
— Clarke Havener, Managing Director, Korn Ferry
If you are thinking of volunteering, for JA or any organization, just do it. Throw yourself into the endeavor with gusto, know that JA will have your back, and experience the joy of sharing the wealth of information you certainly have.
— Steve Thormahlen, Community Volunteer
