FOUR LOCAL business leaders INDUCTED INTO THE JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT WASHINGTON BUSINESS HALL OF FAME
WASHINGTON, D. C. (December 14, 2022) – On November 30, the Washington Business Hall of Fame welcomed four new Laureates to cap off a day-long event that raised $1.375 million to support the work at Junior Achievement of Greater Washington to systematically reengineer education to expand economic mobility and opportunity for all students.
For more than 30 years, the Washington Business Hall of Fame has recognized the achievements of our region’s most accomplished business leaders – celebrating the impact they’ve had on our local economy and communities. The 2022 Washington Business Hall of Fame Laureates are:
Ray Ritchey – Senior Executive Vice President, Boston Properties
Reggie Aggarwal – Chief Executive Officer & Founder, Cvent
Charlene Mickens Dukes, EdD – President Emerita, Prince George’s Community College and Founder & Principal, The Dukes Group LLC
Michele Kang – Majority Owner, The Washington Spirit and Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Cognosante

With a mission to connect the best in business to inspire the next in business, the 2022 Washington Business Hall of Fame provided a full day of programming that included important discussions and testimonials from business leaders and JA students. The event kicked off with a Virtual Town Hall moderated by Leon Harris of NBC4/WRC-TV and was followed by a Master Class Series that offered exclusive access inside the minds of prominent regional business and community leaders..
During the evening, over 800 members of the Greater Washington business community gathered at The Anthem to celebrate the new Hall of Fame Laureates, learn about JA’s impact on local students, and to demonstrate their investment in the transformational movement in education driven by JA’s work.
Among the highlights of the event were appearances by impressive local high school students who are already starting entrepreneurial ventures and solving strategic business issues through their involvement with JA. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser shared virtually about the District’s commitment to Junior Achievement’s work to inspire and prepare students to succeed in our complex global economy through a partnership with the DC Government and DC Public Schools. Dr. Monica Goldson, CEO of Prince George’s County Public Schools, spoke about the impact of JA's partnership with PGCPS and the Prince George's County government, citing it as a game-changer for students with its focus on real-world education and experiences.
Chaired by Monica Dalwadi, managing partner of the DC Metro Region, the Washington Business Hall of Fame was presented by Capital One, Carlyle, KPMG and Morgan Stanley, and supported by the Greater Washington Board of Trade and the Washington Business Journal, as well as several business and community partners.
