Oxon Hill, MD, May 22, 2024
AT&T and Compudopt teamed up with Junior Achievement of Greater Washington to provide 100 laptops to area graduating students from Potomac High School in Oxon Hill. The students who received the laptops are the inaugural graduating class of 3DE by Junior Achievement (3DE) at Potomac High School. 3DE is a four-year comprehensive instructional model that reengineers education to connect learning to the complexities of the working world and expands equitable access to economic opportunities. The 3DE model leverages public-private partnerships and a proven case-based methodology to challenge student teams to solve problems and make decisions within real-world situations.
“This investment from AT&T and Compudopt advances our shared vision to create a Greater Washington where every young person has the skillset and the mindset to build thriving communities,” said Lynne Ford, interim President and CEO of JA of Greater Washington. “3DE is rooted in expanding access to opportunities for all students, and laptops are a critical tool for students to achieve their goals in school, in work, and in life.”
This effort is part of the AT&T Connected Learning® initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption.
“AT&T is proud to collaborate with organizations like Junior Achievement to help close the digital equity gap in Prince George’s County and across Maryland,” said Katie McEvoy, regional director, AT&T External Affairs in Maryland. “Access to connectivity is vital in helping to bridge the digital divide, and we are glad we can provide these resources to those that need them most as they launch their lives after high school.”
