Junior Achievement of Greater Washington Elects Five Business Leaders to its Board of Directors

Washington, D.C. (January 11, 2019) – Junior Achievement of Greater Washington is pleased to announce the appointment of five new Board members: Jonathan Aberman of Amplifier Ventures, Mark Rothman of MYTA Technologies, Jacob Streit of HSBC, Rishi Vyas of PNC Wealth Management, and Tien Wong of Lore Systems.

The new members join an impressive group of the nation’s business frontrunners, Greater Washington civic leaders, and educational thought leaders, dedicated to leveling the playing field for Greater Washington youth, who serve to provide guidance and support to JA's mission of teaching young people how to succeed in a global economy and inspiring confidence in the future.

Jonathan Aberman

Jonathan Aberman

Mr. Aberman is the Managing Director and Chairman of Amplifier Ventures, a group of related technology innovation consulting and investment management businesses that collectively operate at the cross section of entrepreneurship, technology, innovation and policy in the Greater Washington Region. He possesses substantial venture capital, financial and managerial expertise, gained over a career spanning venture capital, law and investment banking. Mr. Aberman is also an educator, and he teaches subjects relating to family- and closely-held businesses, including corporate finance, business planning, organizational development and new venture creation.

Mark Rothman

Mark Rothman

Mr. Rothman owned and operated The MYTA Corporation, one of the largest IT Staffing firms in the Washington, DC area, until its sale in 2002. In 2015, he opened a second IT Staffing Firm in Bethesda, MD, MYTA Technologies, modelled after the original MYTA. Mr. Rothman remains an active member of the area business community serving on the boards of several private companies. He also works with numerous philanthropic and non-profit organizations.

Jacob Streit

Jacob Streit

Mr. Streit is a Team Lead for HSBC, covering corporates in the Mid-Atlantic region. His responsibilities include origination, marketing and growth of the segment throughout the market.  He joined HSBC in 2013 after spending 6 ½ years in a corporate banking role at a prior institution, helping corporates in the Florida, North Carolina, and Washington, DC markets. Mr. Streit has expertise in working with Technology, Media and Telecom industries and has participated in hundreds of transactions. 

Rishi Vyas

Rishi Vyas

Mr. Vyas is a Senior Vice President and a Market Managing Director for PNC Wealth Management® Greater Washington Area market. He oversees all management responsibilities for the Wealth Management Group within PNC’s market consisting of the Greater Washington area.

Tien Wong

Tien Wong

Mr. Wong serves as chairman and CEO of Lore Systems, a technology services firm specializing in managed datacenter hosting, cloud computing, information networking and infrastructures, IT staff augmentation and strategic IT consulting. He also serves as the CEO of Opus 8 Inc, a private investment and advisory firm. A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Wong co-founded and served as CEO of CyberRep, Inc beginning in 1991 until it was acquired in 2003 by Affiliated Computer Services. Today, the business unit is one of the largest call center operations in the world, with more than $850 million in revenue. As a result of the company’s growth, Wong received the 2001 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Greater Washington.
