Junior Achievement of Greater Washington is proud to announce a new partnership with Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts (Wolf Trap). Wolf Trap will be serving at the Entertainment Storefront partner at JA Finance Park Fairfax County in Fairfax, Virginia, where 14,000 Fairfax County Public Schools eighth grade students will take part in an immersive, real-life budgeting simulation each year.
Work-life balance is, perhaps, one of the most important lessons we can teach our region's young people. As the JA Finance Park Entertainment Storefront partner, Wolf Trap will challenge students to think carefully about their spending choices so that they can afford to have the unforgettable experiences you can only get outside the office.
“Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is delighted to partner with Junior Achievement of Greater Washington,” said Arvind Manocha, President and CEO of Wolf Trap Foundation. “Fairfax County is our home, and education is core to Wolf Trap Foundation’s mission, so participating in JA Finance Park is an important way to connect with young members of our community. Many local students grow up coming to Wolf Trap, and as they learn to make smart financial decisions, we hope they see the arts as a vital part of our community landscape, and a good investment of their entertainment dollars.”
Wolf Trap’s storefront at JA Finance Park is just like stepping foot onto the grounds of Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, offering students a panoramic look at the 7,028-seat Filene Center, with wooden picnic tables, a “lawn,” and interactive exhibits that give youth a deeper look into the arts and entertainment options available to them at Wolf Trap.
“JA Finance Park is a proud part of the Fairfax County community,” said Junior Achievement President and CEO Ed Grenier. “It’s important to us to have organizations that represent all this County has to offer in the facility. We are so proud to have Wolf Trap standing with us in our work to transform the preparedness of our youth from one nonprofit’s mission into a major regional movement.”
