Hopefully, Akilah realizes the degree of her talent, which might leave her wondering how she can turn that talent and passion for art into a career. And that, my friends, is where the JA Job Shadow™ comes in.
For Akilah, she now has a concrete example of a career she might pursue, right here in her hometown, where she can use her artistic talents, while also making a living. And these are the kind of structured, informative experiences we hope to give each and every student that participates in our JA Job Shadow™ program. Students experience a "day in the life" of a certain career, and might even be exposed to career options that they didn't know existed previously. It's about connecting what youth are learning into the classroom to the future.
These experiences are formative, experiential, and engaging. But most of all, they're JA®.
