Junior Achievement USA (JA®) and E*TRADE today announced that they intend to continue a nationwide partnership in which E*TRADE colleagues, leveraging JA® curriculum, teach students in seven markets across the country, including Greater Washington.
This year alone, in the District, Maryland, and Virginia, over 100 E*TRADE volunteers will become JA® Hero volunteers at JA Finance Park® Prince George's and Fairfax counties. E*TRADE colleagues will educate students about real-world challenges when it comes to budgeting, saving, investing, and planning for the future. As they guide students through the park, they will bring the digital curriculum to life, helping students understand their life scenario and challenging them to consider how today's activities might lead the way to a brighter future.
“This initiative delivers squarely on our mission of empowering individuals to take control of their finances,” said Kimberly Walton, Senior Vice President at E*TRADE Financial. “When it comes to career preparation and financial literacy, you can never start learning too early – and we’re thrilled to work with JA® to help students through real-world experiences in schools throughout the country.”
E*TRADE is also the Auditorium Partner at both JA Finance Park® Fairfax County and Prince George's County, joining Junior Achievement of Greater Washington to make students' experience memorable from the outset so that they get the most out of the program and walk away with concepts they can put into practice in their lives immediately.
"E*TRADE is one of our most critical partners in this region," said Ed Grenier, President and CEO at Junior Achievement of Greater Washington. "From our first conversations, they got it. They understood the importance of helping these kid realize their full and boundless potential. And, they were willing to stand with us through people and dollars in our shared commitment to delivering a truly unforgettable experiential learning experience. They make our work possible, and they help our kids soar."
