MARYLAND'S FIRST JA FINANCE PARK® OPENS IN LANDOVER
Junior Achievement of Greater Washington, Prince George's County Public Schools, and Capital One celebrated the opening of JA Finance Park® on the campus of G. James Gholson Middle School/Cora L. Rice Elementary School in Landover. The 13,500-square-foot experiential financial literacy center is the second in the region, the first in the State of Maryland and will serve 9,000 PGCPS students each year. Read more >>

JA® HERO GIVES BACK WHERE HE GOT HIS START
Jeff Lilley began volunteering with Junior Achievement® in December of 2014 at Sligo Middle School where his twin boys go to school. Since then, he's volunteered at Westland Middle School, Takoma Park Middle School, most recently at Chevy Chase Elementary School and will volunteer at Briggs Chaney Middle School this coming December. He's been a great volunteer in the classroom and recently reflected on it means to give back to the community that gave him a foundation for his love of learning. Read more >>

JA®, COCA-COLA, AND WASHINGTON REDSKINS HOST 4TH AND LIFE FORUM
Through the '4th and Life' event, organized by the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, Coca-Cola, and Junior Achievement, several Redskins players share how they've found both personal and professional success with over 400 local high school football players. INSPIRING AN ENTREPRENEURIAL JA® GENERATION
As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, JA® worked with local high schools to connect their students with entrepreneurs who could share their story and lessons they've learned while pursuing their path to their own American Dream. Patrick Dean, President of Associated Builders and Contractors - Virginia Chapter and founder of Rip City gyms, spoke with students at Freedom High School in Loudoun County. "Every day, someone has a great idea. It might not be world-changing, but it could be community-changing," he said to a group of Future Business Leaders of America. WRITE YOUR FUTURE: DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 8
The JA ® Essay Competition, presented in partnership with David M. Rubenstein, is now accepting applications. Open to 9th-12th graders, 9 students will win a $10,000 scholarship. One grand prize winner will receive a $20,000 scholarship. The school from each DC, MD, and VA with the greatest number of eligible applicants will receive a $6,000 grant. Since its founding in 2008, David M. Rubenstein has pledged more than $1 million to support the competition. Read More >>
