Junior Achievement of Greater Washington’s Ed Grenier Announces Plans to Retire
Washington, DC – Ed Grenier, President and CEO of Junior Achievement of Greater Washington since 1996, announced that he will be retiring from the organization in December 2024. As part of the transition, he will be stepping back from his day-to-day role as CEO of the organization, effective April 17, 2024, and assuming the position of CEO Emeritus to lead strategic initiatives, including fundraising projects, during his remaining tenure with the organization. Lynne Ford, who serves on the JA of Greater Washington board of directors, will assume the role of interim CEO while the search for Mr. Grenier’s successor begins.
Economic Milestones: A Generation Deferred?
On the financial front, Generation Z is dealing with challenges that either didn’t exist previously or did but to a lesser degree. These include escalating costs for housing, education, and healthcare; ballooning student loan debt; and the perception of most Americans that wages are not keeping up with inflation.
