As President and CEO of Junior Achievement of Greater Washington (JA), Ed Grenier is driven by his belief that access is what creates opportunity, and opportunity should not be dictated by your zip code.  For the past two and a half decades, he remains focused on transforming education at all levels to be more relevant, experiential, and authentically-connected to the complexities of the real world.

In Greater Washington, JA continues to change the game for our region’s youth by connecting learning to life beyond the classroom walls through holistic public/private partnerships with the business and education communities. Ed’s vision is leading Junior Achievement to re-think education by creating engaging learning environments that reflect the world in which we live, empowering students with the skills and confidence to unlock greater economic opportunity.

In 2010, Ed led the groundbreaking effort to build Greater Washington’s first major career-readiness and financial literacy center for youth, JA Finance Park.  Since then, Junior Achievement has opened two additional Finance Park facilities, with building underway on the flagship JA Discovery Center in the nation’s capital.

As CEO of Junior Achievement, Ed oversees the Washington Business Hall of Fame, the region’s signature lifetime achievement award for individuals who made a significant contribution to the quality of life in Greater Washington through the private sector economy and who also serve as role models for future leaders.

Ed serves on the Boards of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the Prince George’s County Chamber of Commerce, and the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the DMV Regional Congress and the Economic Club of Washington, DC. He serves on JA USA’s National HR Committee and has served on various JA USA Strategic Planning Committees.
