Amy Marcenaro is the EVP & COO of Junior Achievement of Greater Washington (JA), a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people to succeed in a global economy and inspire confidence in the future.
In her current role Ms. Marcenaro acts as the president’s liaison to the Washington region and is responsible for the development and delivery of strategic alignments with school systems in the organization’s 22-county franchise territory. She oversees the organization’s educational delivery, fiscal management, governance policies and procedures, and strategic planning.
Ms. Marcenaro has over eighteen years with Junior Achievement of Greater Washington, having served in volunteer development, partnership initiative, project management, and tactical implementation roles across multiple teams. Her signature accomplishment, the construction oversight and programmatic implementation of three JA Finance Parks, has become the cornerstone for the organization’s growth.
Her professional experience also includes serving as Development Director for Campaign Media Analysis Group (CMAG), a political ad tracking company. As Development Director she was responsible for all areas of client development resulting in new business and improved company image. Before joining CMAG, Ms. Marcenaro was the Executive Director of the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC), a bipartisan association for the country’s leading political consultants.
Ms. Marcenaro attended Santa Clara University, participating in specialized public policy programs at both the London School of Economics and American University. Ms. Marcenaro was selected to participate in JA USA’s Developing Managerial Effectiveness program at Penn State University and was a member of Leadership Greater Washington’s 2015 Signature Program. Originally from California, she has resided in Alexandria, Virginia for the past 25 years.
