Steve K. Rainey is the Partner-in-Charge of Tax for KPMG’s Washington DC/Baltimore business unit. In addition, Mr. Rainey leads the Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 national services for KPMG’s tax department. Previously, Steve was with KPMG’s Washington National Tax practice for ten years; he also worked in the firm’s Orlando and Chicago offices.
Education
Mr. Rainey holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Masters of Accounting from the University of Florida.
Professional Activities
Mr. Rainey has co-authored several articles in various periodicals including The Tax Executive, Journal of Taxation, Journal of Bank Taxation, Tax Management International Journal, and Tax Management Memorandum. In addition, Mr. Rainey frequently speaks on various tax related topics. He was an Adjunct Professor in the LLM program at the University of Baltimore and, while a member of KPMG’s Chicago office, served as an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Taxation Program at DePaul University.
Steve is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
